Hi Rafael,
It is ok to take a break. Sleep is important, but if you lack some sleep sometimes it will not hurt you.

I have seen that most marathoner are 30 years or older, for a young people, what is the apropiate age to begin?
In the morning when running I alway meet the same older people.
And one more question, is there any search for why is the key for kenian runners againt USA runners, There are more kenian winner than america runners (talking about marathon)

Hi rafael4z,
I believe the older the better. If you start running marathons at age 16 you could cause injuries. I believe your running age is more important. Once you have 5 years of running in you can attempt your first marathon. The Kenyans tend to be better, because of there environment and the sport of running being very poplular there compared to the US.

Hi Rafael,
I would be careful so you do not get injured. If your long runs are going fine you should be fine. Make sure you go at an easy pace.

Hi John,
I will be 48 in mid-March. I am in my 5th year of triathlons. I am building back my foundation back after tapering a bit from winter training. I am stretching well before & after runs, watching my intake and hydration carefully and am sleeping a bit more when needed. BUT, I am feeling much weaker and more tired during my runs early on and throughout my run. I don

Hi graciemojo,
I would back off your training for about a week. Let your body rest. Your body is telling you something and you should listen to it carefully. I would also tried to eat more and try to eat good foods. Keep me posted.

Hi Rafael,
First, good luck with your race. My goal would be half the marathon goal. Remember you are a few months out from your marathon so you have a lot fitness left before than. Keep me posterd.

I did 2 hours 26 seconds in half (Guatemala Max Tott) there were hills, so I hope to get better in Los Angeles, will see. Besides there are more marathons ahead.

Hi Rafael,
Not a bad start. The hills are a factor. If you can find a flat race you will run much better. Take the positives from the race and build upon that. Keep me posted.

Hi Rapahael,
I have not. I would ask your doctor more questions to see what he has to say. It could be genetics.
