Hi John,

I am a Norwegian two time Olympian and came across your site by coincidence when googling for muscle cramps + blog. Want to add an additional thing on cramps ; go for eccentric exercises (bringing on weight in the direction of the "stretch"). It helps both for leg type cramps + hamstrings problems. And is one of the "secrets" of world class marathoners like Olympic champ Baldini.

Will keep checking back on your blog + site. Keep up the good work.

Hi Rafael,
I ran that a few years go. I want to do well in December at the US Cross Country Championships as a masters runner. I have never ran the LA Marathon.

Hi John

I would like to know if the 2.42 marathon you made it as a master or younger and if you righ now run for fun or competitive.
Do you still have goal to achieve?
Have you ever run the LA marathon ?
Thanks for your time answering all my questions.

If you go to a hilly area and focus on the uphills and ride hard and take it easy on the downhill would be a good workout. One mile of running is roughly equal to 2.5 to 3 miles of biking.

Tony,
I hope you did well in Cleveland. My wife a non runner, always walks out of the room when I do it. As you know, make sure the area is clean so it does not get infected.
