Hi Mary,
You are never to old. You want to make sure you take it slow. I normally tell people to run and walk at first. Meaning walk for 5 minutes and a light jog for the next 5 minutes. It takes between 21 to 28 days to adapt to a stress. Keep me posted.

Hi Marie,
If possible if you can get a Tuesday run that would be nice. In a perfect world running 6 to 7 days would be best, but family is much more important.

Hi John. I have been running on and off for a while now about 3-5 miles each time but recently increased my running distance to 6-7 miles. My goal is to be able to run a half-marathon, my problem is, due to my work schedule and kids, I only really have time to run Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays avery week. Is it okay to train onthose days only, or do I have to try to aim for a daily run as much as I can?

Thanks John for your reply.

The ten mile race went well, ran it in 80mins flat. I made myself drink 500ml of lucozade before went to sleep, then again when i got up at 8am. And finally another on way to race. The race started at ten. After it everything was as normal, much better than my previous runs. Am gonna start following your above advice with the weighing.

(my next race run will be the dublin half marathon, next month)

Thanks again.

Hi Mark,
What I normally do is weigh myself in the morning especially during the summer. Once I am done running I change into dry shorts and weigh myself again. As you know you will may have lost up to 6 lbs. Throughout the day I drink liquids to get my weight back up to the morning weight. I normally take in a drink from NUUN.com. Its like gatorade, but without all the sugar. I hope this helps. let me know.

Hi John,
Am in training for the Dublin Marathon. Am doing a ten mile race run tomorrow. I try as much as I can to take on as much liquid as possible, but still find after my long training runs 8miles+, that my urine colour is not what it should be. How much liquid should be drank roughly a day, on running days? What would your liquid intake be? Any extra information, I would be grateful.
Thanks for your time.
Regards Mark.

If that is the best time to run for you continue. The body will adapt after a while.

HI.. i am little hesitant to run at night as i feel active after the run and hv trouble at sleep, which keeps me dull the next day @ work. so i tried for three days and then stopped .. should i continue running at night for a long time before reaching any conclusion
